8 Awesome Restaurants That Cater to Your Pup

When was the last time you went out to eat and wished the restaurant had a treat for you to take home to your dog? If you are a dog lover like me, odds are you find yourself wanting to bring a treat home for your dogs whenever you are out! Or, you may want to enjoy eating with your dog when you are out and about. This is where secret dog menus come in!

I never knew so many places carried menus for dogs and now that I know, all I want to do is drive around with my dog and give these restaurants a try. Why not spend some quality time with your pup and hope he enjoys the yumminess some of these restaurants have to offer?

Here are eight establishments that offer healthy menus for your dog while catering to your food cravings!

1. Sprinkles – Sprinkles is one of the leading cupcake chains in the United States and I can see why they include doggy cupcakes on their menu. Made with honey, whole wheat, egg, vanilla, and no sugar, their recipe is similar to a dog biscuit and there is a little edible bone sprinkle on the top of each cupcake to make it extra cute!

2. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar – The menu for dogs here is very versatile with grilled chicken, brown, rice, and a grilled patty (which is something I totally see my dog eating and loving). If you have a quiet dog you can even sit on the patio, which is awesome since not a lot of restaurants will let you dine with your dog.

3. In-N-Out – In-n-Out’s “pup patty” is something you would feed your dog regardless of where it’s served. The patty is unsalted so it’s safe for dogs to eat. Not to mention their menu for hoomans is delicious as well. This is the perfect drive-thru experience to share with your dog!

4. Moss Beach Distillery – With a wide range of food on the doggie menu from grilled chicken breast for $5 to skirt steak for $16, this is a restaurant you can bring your pup to. With the view of seal cove patio to accompany for your furry friend, this is fine dining with your dog at its best.

5. Sonic – If you dine with your dog at Sonic, they will bring your dog a treat along with your meal!

6. Shake Shack – This popular restaurant offers dogs a “Bag O’ Bones” consisting of five ShackBurger dog biscuits, so enjoy your meal while your pup enjoys some biscuits!

7. Chick-fil-A – Certain Chick-fil-A locations give dog treats if you use the drive thru with your dog. Be sure to ask your location if they provide dog treats the next time you place your order!

8. Johnny Rockets – If you bring your dog and sit on their outdoor patio, you can ask your server to bring you a cut up hamburger and water for your dog. Also, there’s a Johnny Rockets in California that has a 20 item menu for dogs. Hopefully this menu will be available at all other locations in the future!

Obviously health is a factor when exploring food options for your dogs and it is important to remember some of the products restaurants offer dogs may contain dairy and sugar. For example, Starbucks offers puppuccinos (cup of whipped cream) and Dairy Queen offers pup cups (vanilla softserve with a dog treat on top). Some dogs may be sensitive to these products so only give them to your dog in moderation.

I don’t know about you, but my pup would be one happy pup if he got to a yummy cupcake or a steak as I enjoyed one of my own. These places know what it means when people say a dog is part of your family. It means not leaving anybody behind and enjoying the time together. I cannot wait to see if other restaurants follow suit and create special menus for our furry family members. I hope my town in Arkansas gets a dog friendly restaurant soon so I don’t have to leave my pup behind when I go out to eat!
