4 Adoption Stories that will Warm Your Heart
One of the greatest things to come out of any animal adoption is the wonderful story of good animals finding a new home. It’s always a celebration whenever an animal gets a new lease on life, and it is important to take the time to celebrate it when it occurs. Whether big or small, all adoptions are a thing to be celebrated!
With that in mind, here are four heartwarming stories of animal adoption.
Animal Rescued from Water Treatment Plant
Mufasa, an aging senior dog, was discovered living within a water treatment facility in Los Angeles, and was a mess before rescue workers had a chance to clean him up. Seeing him in this video is enough to break anyone’s heart. But fortunately for him, workers with the Hope for Paws rescue group were able to find him a new forever home with a loving family. It’s good to know that for even the saddest of animals, a second chance at a happy life can be found!
Social Media Finds a Home for Chester
Chester, a pit bull, spent over five years in a New York shelter waiting for a new owner to come and adopt him. As a result, shelter Manager Gabby Stroup decided to try something different to help him. She made a Facebook post of the animal holding a sign asking why he hadn’t been adopted. The picture was shared over social media over 20,000 times, and within two days Chester had found his forever home! This is a great example of how social media can not only help us connect to each other, but can be a powerful tool to help find animals new homes!
Dog Left for Dead Finds Second Chance
Timber, a pit bull from Kansas, was found left for dead on the side of the road with a shotgun wound to her head. Although horrified, a Good Samaritan rushed her to Unleashed Pet Rescue, where he was cleaned up and received treatment by a vet. The good news is, even after such malicious treatment, she was able to make a full recovery and find a happy new home! Make sure you don’t miss this incredible story of recovery and hope!
UPS Driver Adopts Dog after Owner Dies
After his owner passed away this year, her canine companion Leo was left with an uncertain future. But fortunately for this California Pit Bull, he had a friend closer than he realized. While he was being fostered by the owner’s son, it was no long term solution. That’s when Katie Newhouser stepped in. Having been the previous owner’s UPS driver, she had grown familiar with and close to Leo, posting about him to a Facebook group called UPS Dogs detailing animals on their route. She even had him ride in her truck once or twice! It prompted Kate to contact the owner’s son and adopt Leo for herself, giving a happy ending to both of them.
