1. Coldwell Banker’s “Somebody to Love” Ad
Coldwell banker has been putting out a series of great animal adoption ads since 2015 and this year’s offering is no exception. Titled “Someone to Love”, this video not only shares the heartwarming story of a rescued animal and its new owner finding each other, but it also goes on to share that it has helped find 20,000 rescued animals homes since 2015. That is a lot of good being done and at a little longer than a minute, this is an absolutely must see advert.
2. Matching on Tinder
Due to a great match-up between interns at marketing company BBH and a New York animal shelter, users in the city were able to end up with some unexpected Tinder match-ups awaiting them: animals looking for a forever home! The company put 10 dogs up initially then had 2,700 matches in less than a week. Although unconventional, this has shown to be a great way to spread the word about animals looking to find a new home and is noteworthy for being a fresh take to bring people and pets together!
3. “Adopt a Pet” Video
We all could use a little more appreciation in our lives. Wouldn’t it be great if others loved us as unconditionally as our pets do? That’s the premise behind this 2008 video made on behalf of the LA Animal Services department. At only 30 seconds long, it doesn’t wear out its welcome but it is certain to put a smile on your face!
4. Cat Town Café
In Oakland California, there is a café that is a little different form all the others. While they still sell coffee and bagels, they offer the chance to get to meet a variety of colorful felines who are in need of homes. Since 2014, the Cat Café has worked to bring animals and people together, with over 450 adoptions last year! It’s an unconventional way to advertise animals in need of a home, but an undoubtedly effective one!
5. “There’s a Shelter Pet That Wants to Meet You”
A collaborative campaign between the Humane Society of the United States, Maddie’s Fund, and the Ad Council, The Shelter Pet Project has been a multiple level approach to get people to think of adopting a pet first when they think of getting a new animal. In addition to running a website that makes it easy and simple to find adoptable animals in their local area, they also put out great videos showcasing the kinds of animals you can hope to find. It’s a clever and interesting way to raise awareness for such an important issue!
