Best Doggy Destinations: Virginia Beach
Welcome to Best Doggy Destinations! This week we’re featuring the popular vacation spot: Virginia Beach, Virginia!
Grab your flip-flops, beach ball and a camera, because you and your pup will be making memories you won’t want to forget!
After all the exercise, celebrate with sundaes at Bruster’s! Not only do they serve fantastic ice cream, pups are given free sundaes with doggy treats in them!
Also try Abbey Road Pub and Restaurant and Froggies, both of which allow dogs at the outside patio.
Perhaps the most popular attraction in Virginia Beach, the Oceanfront includes a three-mile boardwalk lined with water fountains, benches and shaved ice stands.
Take a walk with your dog and relax on the beach afterwards! Dogs are allowed anytime on the boardwalk and beach during the spring, fall and winter.
Mount Trashmore is a landfill-turned-mega park complete with a skate park, a playground, picnic shelters, and exercising equipment, all surrounding a huge lake.
Whether you’re out on a leisurely stroll, barbecuing, or spending the day with the kids, take your pup with you because there’s a lot to keep everybody entertained for the afternoon!
First Landing State Park offers trails, trees and rich history that separate it from your standard park. The original Jamestown settlers landed at the park over 400 years ago, and today it’s a popular sightseeing spot with interesting plant-life and dog-friendly trails.
For more traditional parks, try Red Wing Dog Park or Woodstock Community Park.
After a day of exploring and eating, your furry friend may be a little tired. Treat them to an appointment at Preppie Pooch, an upscale dog spa dedicated to serving your pup.
The spa offers various types of baths, massages and cleanings that will make your dog feel relaxed and ready for a new day!
