5 Pawesome Pet Instagram Accounts You Must Follow

When I go on Instagram, I’m usually looking for a momentary escape from the world around me. Scrolling through an endless stream of photos has honestly become part of my daily de-stressing routine. Because of this, my newsfeed can often get cluttered with the same boring selfies or food pics that tend to just make me “hangry.” So, in order to mix up my regular Instagram routine and add a cluster of super cute pictures to my life, I started following pet accounts. Instantly adorable kittens and pups greeted my feed.

Here are my 5 favorite accounts so you too can enjoy a stream of amazing, adorable pet pics!

1. TheDailyWoof – As you can guess, TheDailyWoof focuses on dog pictures (really mostly puppies!) The account has 18.9K followers giving you a good idea of just how adorable their posts are. Every pictures features a new adorable pup that is sure to make you smile. As of the post date, their home screen greets you with puppies wearing onesies. Who doesn’t love that? The owners of the site want you to join in on the puppy posting too as their bio reads, “Tag your pics with #TheDailyWoof to be featured!”

2. TheDailyKitten – A partner account to TheDailyWoof, TheDailyKitten brings the same levels of cuteness except, now with kittens! Kittens after a bath, kittens cuddling, and even kittens doing what the do best, taking a nap, appear on the post’s page. It’s almost too much cute to handle! Along with the adorable pictures though, TheDailyKitten is really good about alerting its followers to cute cat apparel. They also want you to post your own kitty pictures to be featured, this time using #TheDailyKitten.

3. DogsOfInstagram – If you couldn’t tell by the name, this account posts pictures of dogs on Instagram! Unlike TheDailyWoof, DogsOfInstagram posts a really diverse amount of dog pictures ranging in different age and breed. You can tell they rely more on owner sent pictures than either TheDailyWoof or TheDailyKitten, which I actually love. Each post is very real and unique. Plus, they are great about giving credit to the original photo owner which is great if you have a pet account of your own! You can submit your photos to dogs.instagram@gmail.com. They also frequently do shout outs concerning different dog related products for both you and your pet as well as giveaways they have available for you to enter!

4. Cats – With a name like Cats, I don’t need to convince you that this is an awesome account. Just like Dogs of Instagram, they post pictures of all different types of cats, including the occasional kitten pic. They are supporters of the really adorable shopping site animalhearted.com and are always updating on new designs and deals. Over eighty percent of their pictures are of just cats though, so it doesn’t have a spam account feel. The account is also good about positing short cat clips frequently, which is great for when you don’t have time to binge watch cat videos online. It’s one of the cutest cat accounts I’ve found, and getting your own pictures features is as easy as tagging @cats.

5. SittingForACause – This account, based on the amazing site designed to point you in the direction of pet sitters, is one you can’t pass by. It’s great for both pet owners and sitters to follow! Plus, any pet care professionals who post pictures on the job using #sittingforacause have a chance to be featured on the page. Not to sound overdramatic, but this account is definitely pet goals!
